Amount of traffic and data transfer mean the same thing and that is the bandwidth you are allowed to use on monthly basis. For example, if you have a 50 MB file on your site and you allow people to download it. Your monthly traffic usage/data transfer/bandwidth = 50 MB x 30 = 1500 MB or 1.5 GB.
Most hosts these days are offering unlimited transfer, so you don’t really have to worry about running out of monthly bandwidth.
You can compare providers at the following url and you will notice the different transfer amount offering by different web hosting providers – http://www.webhostinggroup.net/top-ranke…

Traffic refers to the number of visitors and data transfer refers to the amount of data transfered to and from the website.
If you are looking for hosting I suggest you have a look at http://www.hosting24.com they will register a domain name for free for life and come with unlimited webspace and unlimited data transfer and you can go with them on a monthly basis with money back guarantee
Also when you sign up with them if you enter in a discount code they will give you 25% off their ridiculously cheap hosting plans. code to use is 25OFF
I host all my sites there and have been more than pleased with their help and support which is available by phone support! I hope this helps

Traffic, Data Rate, Transfer rate, it’s all the same. It means the amount of bandwidth used when people view your site. Some sites are very limited and your site can go down if you don’t have enough, but other sites like http://www.myownfreeweb.com give you 10Gigabytes of transfer rate for free with their free hosting, so you should never run out.

Web traffic is the amount or type of people what go on your website.
E.g. it might show the different browsers people had.
At least i think that’s what it is…
